Sesquicentennial Program in the Schools

All third grade students in Muskogee and Hilldale Public Schools are the beneficiaries of the Muskogee Reads the Sesquicentennial program funded by the City of Muskogee Foundation. The Three Rivers Museum applied for a grant in 2022 to help increase education around Muskogee’s rich history and provide free books that are age appropriate to students and adults in the community. Teachers received the curriculum for Bad News for Outlaws, The Remarkable Life of Deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves. After studying the book in class, children were able to take their books home to help build their own personal library.
