Grant Application Process

The City of Muskogee Foundation has two grant cycles, or “grant processes.” A regular grant process open to all organizations; and a Summer Grant process only open to programs or projects that operate primarily during the summer months. The City of Muskogee Foundation has four primary focus areas for grants. Grant committees from each focus area have established unique missions as well as general and specific types of funding. However, funding priority for all focus areas will be given to organizations serving the citizens of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Step 1

Letter of Inquiry

The entire grant process will be coordinated electronically beginning with the Letter of Inquiry (LOI). The LOI gathers basic information about the applicant, a short description of the purpose of the program or project, and amount requested. This part of the application should be compelling enough to capture the attention of the grant committee while being brief and clear. If accepted by the grants committees, the applicant will be notified via e-mail with a link to access the full grant application.

Step 3

Follow Up Reports

If the grant application is approved by the Board of Directors, the grantee will be required to submit two follow up reports within the grant year. The follow up reports will be used to share with the board and committee members and to determine future funding options. Grantees are encouraged to keep in touch with staff about successes and achievements throughout the year!
